Mrs. Lyons – Ms. Sweeney

Welcome to our class page.

We have all settled in really well to our new classroom and we look forward to all the fun we will have in the year ahead.  We are working very hard! We are enjoying lots of reading . We learned all about Roald Dahl and his books . We listened to The Enormous Crocodile and we celebrated Roald’s birthday by all wearing yellow. We listened to The story of the Little Red Hen and we enjoyed acting out the story in our drama lesson. Next we will enjoy lots of spooky stories for Halloween.  In Aistear we enjoyed learning about all the Houses and homes around the world. We painted our houses and we made houses using construction blocks. Currently we are learning about food before moving on to Halloween games and art.  Next week we will enjoy a visit to Charleville Castle. We will collect lots of leaves and see the lovely trees in their Autumn glory.  We have already visited the school Lime tree which we will keep a close eye on this year as it changes every season.  We were very active for Schools active week. We did lots of exercises every day and we enjoyed extra games and races.  Here are some photos of our year so far!

School Tour

Our class really enjoyed our school tour to Imaginosity. There was so much do there! We loved looking at the cool sports car. And we all got a chance to read the news in the newsroom. The supermarket and the doctors were the highlight of our trip. We all agreed that it was a brilliant school tour!

Charleville Forest

Ms. Sweeney and Mrs. Lyons class had a wonderful day in Charleville woods. We saw a sea of bluebells and smelled the delicious garlic. We also saw and played around the old Oak tree.

World Book Day
