Seachtain na Gaeilge was celebrated from March 13th to 16th. It proved to be an eventful and action packed week for all. We welcomed “Seosamh” to every class where he was warmly received and joined in all activities. ”Seosamh “ is multi-talented, he was caught reading, swimming, cooking, playing rugby, going to birthday parties and even took some time out to go shopping !
The boys and girls from 2nd class enjoyed a “Tráth na gCeist“ that was tightly contested, while 1st class played some Bingo..
A stray leprechaun was spotted during our “Rith Mór Glas” but was soon put back to work in Junior Infants! It was a sea of green around St. Joseph’s as we chatted as Gaeilge about our environment on the run. The children put in a great effort with their green costumes.
We had some talented musicians Mr. McArdle, Deirdre and Siobhán visited classes with their instruments for a ”seisiún”.
Everybody got the chance to attend an Irish dancing workshop where we put our 1,2,3’s into action.
Prizes were presented for the “Tráth na gCeist” winning teams and our “Comórtas Ealáine”. The colourful art entries were displayed in the PE hall.
Bhain gach duine an taitneamh as an seachtain agus bhí sé go hiontach an méid Gaeilge a bhí le cloisteáil ar fud na scoile agus an méid rince Gaelach a bhí ar súil sa halla I rith am corpoideachas gach lá sa seachatin. Go raibh maith agaibh as ucht an obair go léir agus coiméad suas an cúpla focal!
