St Joseph’s N.S.  Friendship Week October 4^th -8^th 2021

We had a busy Friendship Week at the start of October. Children explored how to be good friends through a variety of different activities. The theme of the week was kindness. We had a friendship raffle where children earned tokens when they were “caught” being good. Our entry box was overflowing as everyone made such an excellent effort at showing kindness and being friendly.  Classes sang songs, read stories, wrote poems, shared jig-saws and joined in circle time activities. Friendship lessons were integrated with SPHE, PE, Art and Literacy.  Finally, every child in the school contributed to our whole school art project “Be the i in Kind”. This piece of art provided a wonderful backdrop in our PE hall and was a powerful reminder that each one of us are part of a wide friendship community in St Joseph’s.  Well done to everyone who embraced Friendship Week with such enthusiasm.
