It has been a magical month in 2nd Class! From exploring Christmas traditions around the world to meeting Santa, Room 21 have been very busy getting into the Christmas spirit. Here is a look at what we’ve been up to.

On Monday we took a very important trip into town. Our first stop was the post box to send off our Santa Gratitude Letters. Instead of just making lists of toys, the children wrote beautiful letters thanking Santa for his hard work and sharing what they are grateful for this year.

While we were out, we soaked up the festive atmosphere. We visited the Christmas Crib in the Bridge Centre and everyone had a turn sitting in the big Christmas chair.

The students worked incredibly hard on their Christmas Around the World projects. We discovered how children celebrate in countries like Spain. Ukraine, Philippines, Lithuania and Australia. It was wonderful to see the creativity and effort put into every project.

Mr. Hynes and Ms. Dolan surprised our class with delicious hot chocolate one afternoon. It was a fantastic surprise! We got an even better surprise when Santa popped in to visit our school. He gave us some chocolate lollies and promised he’d visit us in our homes soon!! Santa confirmed what we all suspected – we are all on the good list!

We wish all our pupils and their families a very Merry Christmas and a happy, restful New Year!
