About Junior Infants

Welcome to Junior Infants at St Joseph’s N.S!
Starting school is an exciting journey, and in Junior Infants, we focus on creating a warm, nurturing environment where every child feels safe, happy, and ready to learn. Our Junior Infants engage in a wide variety of playful and interactive activities that support their development in early literacy, numeracy, and social skills. Through stories, songs, games, and creative play, we help each child build confidence, curiosity, and a love of learning. We take pride in working together to make this first step in your child’s educational journey a joyful and rewarding experience.

We really enjoyed our summer walk in Charleville. We saw lots of bluebells, climbed trees and enjoyed nature!

What a wonderful day for the junior infants! Today, we went to Charleville to experience the beauty of the bluebells in the woods.

Today was so much fun because a pet farm came to school! We got to see and pet lots of different animals. There were lambs, goats, and other cute creatures.

We were learning all about our senses this week. We had a fruit tasting activity where we were blindfolded and had to guess the fruit by smelling and tasting it!

We had lots of fun hunting for Easter Eggs this week. We even met a very friendly chicken and bunny! 🐰 🐥

Crazy Hair Day in St. Joseph’s was a huge success for the junior infants and the teachers. It’s always wonderful when everyone gets involved and has some fun together. There
