We have been learning all about what a democracy is in 2nd class this week with the upcoming Presidential Election. Ms. Dolan set up her classroom like a polling station. We had Ms. Mulligan act as a Polling Officer who checked our names on the registry. The children then used the ballots to vote in privacy. After voting the children placed their cards in the ballot box. We really enjoyed the experience and had an overall vote of 79 votes. We learned about what a ‘spoiled vote’ is and how to vote on our voting cards.
