European School Sports Day (ESSD) is a day where schools all across Europe celebrate sport and physical activity. It took place on Friday 26th September. This initiative aims to promote physical activity on an international level and involve as many children and schools as possible.

Research shows that being active makes students healthier and better learners in the classroom. School spirit improves too with fun and inclusive team sports.

The theme for 2025 was “The Power of Co-Operation”. We really enjoyed co-operating during games and sport in St. Josephs school for ESSD and you can see lots of photos below.
