On Friday 7th March first class children were very lucky to be able to pay a visit to the local Fire Station. Children got a wonderful insight into the work carried out in the fire station and by the fire men. As the children are currently learning about ‘People who work in our locality’ through the geography curriculum, this experience was fantastic to allow the children a hands on ‘real’ approach to the profession. Children got the opportunity to sit in the firemen’s dressing room and try on the fire helmets. Children also got the opportunity to sit in the fire trucks. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
