Friendship Week September 30th-October 4th 2024
Friendship Week was celebrated in St. Joseph’s from September 30th to October 4th. There were many planned activities integrated into the curriculum in recognition of this. Among some of the events that took place was a whole school art project where all pupils painted or coloured their handprint to form part of our Friendship Tree in the hall.
Classes produced some lovely art in their own class with a friendship theme such as a Friendship bracelet, Friendship quilts, Friendship Flowers and Friendship compliments. All classes had a PE lesson to help build friendship skills along with a Literacy activity such as an Acrostic poem and a Recipe for Friendship.
Friendship songs such as You Can Count On Me and Circle of Friends filled the air. Older classes buddied up with younger classes to show them how to take part in playground games. Children earned good friend tokens by showing kindness to each other throughout the week. We also listened to many stories with the theme of Friendship.
The children thoroughly enjoyed the fun activities and friendships they made and developed during the week.
