Friendship Week: October 2nd – 6th, 2023

We had an activity-filled Friendship Week at the start of October, where children explored how to be good friends through a variety of engaging activities. One of the highlights was our friendship raffle, where children earned tokens for being “caught” doing good deeds. Our entry box overflowed as everyone made an outstanding effort to show kindness and be friendly.

Throughout the week, classes:

• Sang songs
• Read stories
• Wrote poems
• Shared jigsaw puzzles
• Joined in circle time activities

Friendship lessons were integrated with SPHE, PE, Art, and Literacy.

Additionally, classes participated in an art activity where each child added their own drawing to a class picture. These collective pictures were displayed in the PE hall under the heading “We are Friends”, serving as a reminder that every one of us is part of a broad friendship community at St. Joseph’s.
