We made butter in September as part of our science and history lessons. We learned about different household items in the past such as butter churns. We put cream into a jar and shook it in turns until it turned into butter and buttermilk. We poured our the buttermilk and shook it again until we were left with just butter. We added a pinch of salt and tasted it on some cream crackers. We loved it, some children even thought it tasted better than butter you can buy in the shops! Our arms were very tired afterwards though!
