VEX IQ Robotics

We were thrilled to participate in the STEM programme “VEX Robotics” hosted at the Sacred Heart School on the 9th of April.

VEX Robotics is designed to spark children’s interest and make learning fun in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths (STEM). This programme encourages creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. During the event, our students had the exciting opportunity to build, design, and program two robots, which they then used to compete in various challenges. These robots were operated both manually and automatically through coding, giving the children hands-on experience in robotics and programming.

We were very excited to be part of this innovative programme. VEX Robotics is delivered by Cork Institute of Technology in collaboration with Offaly County Council.

Micro

Workshop

A huge thank you to Dean from Offaly County Council, in conjunction with Tullamore Library, for facilitating a fantastic coding workshop for our 2nd class students at St. Joseph’s.

During this workshop, the children designed their own electric guitars and used Micro

technology along with coding techniques to select and play notes on their instruments. The students were fully engaged in the experience, and their eyes lit up as they saw the “magic” of their coding efforts come to life!
